Our Story
Iron Horse Builders was founded in 1972 by Bill Mosmeier, a civil engineer and farmer who combined technical expertise with a deep faith and strong commitment to serving his community. Bill’s vision was to build a company where family values, integrity, and quality craftsmanship guided every project.
His dedication to both engineering excellence and hard work laid the foundation for a construction company that would serve generations of clients throughout Southern and Central Ohio.
A Legacy of Family Leadership
Following Bill’s passing in 2001, his son Chris Mosmeier stepped in to lead the company into its next chapter. Under Chris’s leadership, Iron Horse Builders expanded beyond agricultural buildings into customized residential and commercial construction, including the detailed barndominiums and specialty structures the company is known for today.
Today, the company continues as a third-generation family business. Keifer Mosmeier, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in civil engineering, brings new expertise and modern building insight to the business while working alongside a trusted team of long-term craftsmen and experienced equipment operators.
